There are three more chances to weigh in on the Global Warming Solutions Act before the state is required to set targets for reducing the state's greenhouse gas emissions.
The state Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs is holding public hearings in Boston and Woods Hole next week and the following week.
The Global Warming Solutions Act requires states to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by between 10 and 25 percent below 1990 levels. The deadline to meet the benchmark is 2020.
The public has the opportunity to comment on the goal and to testify about specific greenhouse gas reduction measures Monday at 1:30 p.m. on the 21st floor of the McCormack building in Boston, Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole and Tuesday, June 22 at 6 p.m. at the Tobin Community Center in Boston.
Written comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. on July 15. Written testimony must be submitted by email or mail to: or Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Waste Prevention, 1 Winter Street 6th Floor, Boston, MA 02108, Attn: Lee Dillard Adams.
