Report: retailers may quit in droves

The Workforce Institute in Chelmsford announced the findings of a survey analyzing the impact of retailers who neglect their employees.

The "Black Friday: Inside the Retail Employee Psyche" report shows that 46 percent of the more than 1,000 employees surveyed could quit during the rush of the holiday season.  The top three reasons for employee walkouts were not being treated with respect from their boss, too busy because there are not enough employees, and time off requests being ignored.

For those three reasons, the survey found an effect - how employees respond to negative feelings towards their employer.  The top three ways were less motivation at work, calling in sick, and leaving work early or arriving late.
