Q. How are you settling in at your new office?
It's been a great start. The entire commercial lending group is very collegial and supportive of my role.
Q. What's the biggest surprise you've had in starting the job?
The bank's atmosphere, in that we all take our work seriously and still manage to make it a fun day, and I look forward to coming to work in the morning.
Q. What challenges do you see in your new position?
In this current business environment, it would be the overseeing of the commercial accounts, watching for trends and monitoring the viability of the business loans.
Q. How different is this job from your previous position?
As an officer, I have more responsibility for the bank's financial performance and I feel I am always a representative of the bank in the community.
Q. How close is this to what you imagined in high school you'd end up doing?
I have always enjoyed working with numbers. Whether it was math, bookkeeping, statistics, anything that involved numbers always seemed to interest me. I always thought I would somehow be involved in working with numbers in some respect. This has held true throughout my career, so ending up as a credit officer in banking is consistent with my ideas that began in high school.
Q. Where's the best place to get lunch near your new location?
I love to go to J&M Diner on Concord Street (Route 126) in Framingham. They make an awesome Reuben as well as other great sandwiches with plenty of pickles on the side. The staff is very friendly as well.
Q. What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
In ten years I will be 58. I hope to be a member of the commercial lending group at Framingham Co-op for the rest of my career. I hope that I will still be as active physically as I am now. I look forward to welcoming grandchildren at some future point in time as well.
