SEPATON chosen to protect Baystate Health data

Baystate Health, a health services organization based in Springfield, has tapped SEPATON in Marlboro to provide data storage services for its network of hospitals, physician offices, clinical centers, and home-based ambulatory services.

SEPATON's S2100-ES2 virtual tape library (VTL) will be used to store and backup patient data.  The data contains sensitive information on patients, such as allergy alerts, medicine plans, test results, patient history, and additional data.  Since beginning use of the system, Baystate Health now performs nightly backups of its data in under two hours.

Baystate Health is not alone among healthcare providers using SEPATON's systems.  Cambridge Health Alliance, Sepracor, and Health Dialog Services Corp. among others all use VTL from SEPATON.
