Harvard Bioscience, the lab equipment manufacturer based in Holliston, has signed a distribution agreement with Fisher Scientific, the large life science and clinical research firm based in Waltham.
The agreement will see Fisher Scientific, a part of the larger Thermo Fisher Scientific since its 2006 merger with Thermo Electron, distribute Harvard Bioscience’s pumps, spectrophotometers, and other lab equipment in the United States. The agreement builds on an existing distribution agreement between the two firms in Europe, according to a Tuesday press release. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“Expanding our partnership with Fisher Scientific in the U.S. is a significant step toward providing Harvard Bioscience products to all potential customers throughout the United States,” John Duke, president & CEO of Harvard Bioscience, said in the press release. “This collaboration enhances the customer experience by providing streamlined ordering, faster delivery, and localized support through a trusted partner.”
The company says the deal will allow customers to source a comprehensive range of precision tools from a single source, saving time and simplifying the procurement process.
Announcement of the deal comes after the July appointment of John Duke as CEO following the retirement of Jim Green, as the company works to attempt to regain compliance with Nasdaq trading requirements.
The company continues to trade on Nasdaq, with a price of 47 cents per share as of Tuesday morning, compared to a 52-week high of $3.03 and 52-week low of 28 cents.
