Brew City Grill & Brew House, a restaurant on Worcester's Shrewsbury Street which first opened in 1996, has been put up for sale as a temporary closure that began in the summer of 2023 has seemingly been made permanent.
Known for its large selection of over 165 beers, Brew City announced on its social media pages that it would be closing for a summer vacation in 2023.
The most recent post on the restaurant’s Facebook page, dated September 2023, stated that the business had decided to extend that break indefinitely and told readers to stay tuned for further updates.
Signs detailing the temporary closure have now been replaced with a sign stating that the restaurant, located at 102 Shrewsbury St., is for sale. Jerry Azzarone, the owner of Brew City and 102 Shrewsbury St., did not respond to a request for comment from WBJ.
Brew City temporarily closed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. The restaurant faced another temporary closure in January 2022, citing staff shortages.
