Times paper ad revenue slumps

The New York Times Co.'s New England Media Group, which includes the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, continued its advertising revenue slide in July.

According to the company, the New England Media Group's advertising revenues for July fell 4.9 percent from $34.4 million in July 2006 to $32.7 million.

But while ad revenue for the company's print products decreased across the board by as much as 10.9 percent, which was the case for its Regional Media Group, Internet ad revenue rose 19.3 percent compared to July 2006, the company reported.

Also, circulation revenue grew by 4 percent last month compared to July 2006.

The company reported that its total revenue increased 0.1 percent from $261.9 million in July 2006 to $262.3 million last month.
