TJX Reports Q3 Gains

Framingham-based TJX Cos. Inc. reported that its third quarter profit increased from $236 million a year ago to $348 million.

Third quarter sales were up 10 percent to $5.2 billion, with same store sales up 7 percent over last year.

Year-to-date, the company reported that sales reached $14.3 billion, a 5 percent increase over last year. Same store sales also increased 5 percent over the previous year. The discount retailer's year-to-date profit was $819 million.

TJX operates T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Marshals and other discount stores.
