TJX sales increase despite weather

Framingham-based TJX Cos. said its 3 percent October same-store sales increase was below expectations because unseasonably warm weather during the month kept shoppers from buying cold-weather clothing.

The company reported October sales of $1.54 billion, a 6 percent increase over last year. Year to date, the company's sales have reached $13.3 billion, a 7 percent increase over last year.

TJX runs off-price retailers such as TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, A.J. Wright and Bob's Stores.
