Framingham retail parent TJX Cos., Inc., one of the five largest employers in Central Massachusetts, will require booster shots for its vaccinated U.S. office workforce, the company confirmed Wednesday morning.

Those who received a two-dose vaccine are eligible for boosters six months after inoculation, and those who received a one-dose vaccine are eligible for a booster after two months.

“Those who received vaccinations after June 1, 2021 will generally have up to eight months following the date of their final two-dose vaccine and four months following the date of their one-dose vaccine,” the company said in a statement provided to WBJ.

TJX has 4,175 employees in Central Massachusetts, making it the fifth largest employer in the region, according to figures provided to the WBJ Research Department. The company has 320,000 employees worldwide.

The requirement will apply only to U.S. officer workers and not to store or distribution center employees. The company first announced it would require vaccines for office employees over the summer.
