Wolf Coach Bites On $6M DoD Contract

Wolf Coach Inc. of Auburn, a division of New York-based L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. has been awarded a $6.5 million contract modification from the U.S. Department of Defense.

Wolf Coach will build up to 16 mobile communications platforms, with optional upgrades, on behalf of the Naval Air Systems Command's Special Communications Requirements Division. The trucks will then be distributed throughout several agencies of the Department of Defense to meet demand for the systems.

The order is part of an option exercised by the DoD on a previously awarded contract. The official contracting entity is the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Maryland.

In October, Wolf Coach and a sister company, Essco of Concord, presented a plan to the town of Ayer to move their manufacturing operations to the town.
