AIM Happy With Workforce Training Funds

The Associated Industries of Massachusetts, a state-wide business advocacy organization, praised Beacon Hill lawmakers for maintaining funding for Workforce Training and Manufacturing Extension Partnership programs in next fiscal year's state budget.

The organization called the $27.6 billion spending measure a "disciplined" budget that "responsibility addresses" the state's "serious fiscal issues."

The group was not all happy, however. AIM is disappointed that lawmakers did not allow municipalities to design health care plans without collective bargaining, and AIM is disappointed that companies that receive economic development incentives will have additional tax reporting disclosures.

The budget has passed a conference committee between the House and Senate and still must be approved with a final vote by both chambers and signed by the governor.
