The company, which was founded in 2015 as Alicia’s Homemade by Alicia Haddad, is participating in the Biz-M-Power program from the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corp. for crowdfunding matching grants, the company announced June 15. The program offers financial assistance to small businesses in Massachusetts with an acquisition, expansion, improvement, or lease of a facility, purchase or lease of equipment, or with meeting other capital needs.

The corporation will match up to $20,000 of the company’s crowdfunding campaign, which is currently live, according to a press release from Alicia’s Spice Co. Funding will support the company’s purchase of machinery and equipment to streamline production and help it manufacture its seasoning blends and rubs more efficiently.

Haddad founded the company because of her own allergies, and what she saw as a lack of flavorful healthy seasoning blend options on the market. The company is certified gluten free, kosher, keto, and vegan, and products are free of dyes, anti-caking agents, artificial sweeteners, and preservatives.

Donations can also be made offline via cash or check to Alicia’s Spice Co. at 12 Aitchison St. in Worcester.
