American Superconductor Reports Record Revenue

American Superconductor Corp., a Devens-based electronic components company, reported third quarter revenue 95 percent greater than a year ago.

Revenues have grown from $41 million in the third quarter of 2008 to $80.7 million in the third quarter of 2009, which ended for the company on Dec. 31.

The company reported net income of $5 million compared to a loss of almost $8 million in the same quarter last year.

For the year, AMSC is expecting revenue to be up more than 70 percent. The third quarter was the company's 12th consecutive quarter of growth.

AMSC specializes in manufacturing electrical components for wind turbines and high-powered superconductor wiring.
