Hologic Revenues Dip But Company Remains Profitable
Revenues for Hologic Inc., which has offices in Marlborough, fell by 4 percent in its fiscal first quarter while net income slid to $26 million.
The company reported that first quarter revenues dropped from about $430 million last fiscal year to about $412 million for the first quarter of its current fiscal year.
The Bedford-based medical device firm specializes in healthcare products for women. Sales of the company's digital mammography products fell as a result of the "declining economic environment," according to the company, but were buoyed by growth in some diagnostic equipment for surgical products.
The company reported net income in the quarter of $26 million, which is a decrease from the $38.2 million in income during first quarter of fiscal year 2009.
