As WBJ’s lead researcher, Doyle is tasked with compiling all the lists published in every edition and in the annual Book of Lists, with such efforts as Largest Law Firms, Highest-paid CEOs, Top Architectural Firms, Minority-owned Businesses and Top Breweries.

“One in 10,000 people have the right combination of personality and skills to lead WBJ’s research, we are extremely fortunate we found that needle in the haystack in Timothy Doyle,” WBJ Editor Brad Kane said. “Timothy pairs strong and meticulous organizational skills with a friendly and engaging personality to really be all we could hope for in a lead researcher.”

Doyle will be the lead researcher for all the publications from WBJ’s parent company New England Business Media. In all, the research department puts out 250 lists annually at WBJ, Hartford Business Journal, MaineBiz and New HavenBiz, which requires coordinating with more than 3,000 companies. He replaces Stephanie Meagher, who moved to Colorado.

“I'm excited to be working with this fantastic team at New England Business Media,” Doyle said. “I look forward to using my skills to help inform these important business communities around New England.”

Before joining NEBM, Doyle worked at auction startup Everything But The House, handling client relations and working with estates. Previously, he worked at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City.

Doyle, who lives in Worcester, is an artist himself, specializing in oil paintings of architecture and cityscapes. His works have been displayed locally at ArtsWorcester and Sprinkler Factory. In 2014, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Arizona.

From 2009 to 2011, Doyle served as a human intelligence collector for the U.S. Army, and he was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He received the Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal and Army Achievement Medal.
