Ayer Hospital Among Best Employers For Older Workers

The Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer is one of five Massachusetts employers named to the AARP's list of the best employers for workers over 50.
Along with the medical center, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and DentaQuest in Charlestown made the list. Massachusetts claimed the highest number of employers on the list.
The only other employers in New England to make the list were Connecticut Transit in Connecticut and L.L. Bean in Freeport, Maine.
The AARP said the Massachusetts employers on the list represent the two industries expected to be hardest hit by the aging workforce: education and health care.
