Marlborough-based BJ’s Wholesale Club has surpassed 8 million members, as the company brought in over $1 billion last quarter.
The company saw $1.01 billion in profits during the second quarter, compared to $956.6 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2024, according to an earnings press release issued Friday. Income from its membership fees, which were raised in January for the first time in seven years, grew 9% year-over-year to $123.3 million.
BJ’s Wholesale Club had a net income of $150.7 million in the second quarter, up from $145 million in net income seen during the same quarter in 2024.
“Our business model continues to perform and build upon momentum, as we grow membership and gain market share even in a dynamic environment. We enter the back half of the year on solid footing and confident in our ability to deliver strong results,” Bob Eddy, chairman and chief executive officer at BJ’s Wholesale Club, said in the press release. “We are on a powerful trajectory and our teams remain steadfast towards executing on our long-term objectives.”
BJ’s Wholesale Club began the year at around 7.5 million members. The company opened its 250th club location in Louisville, Kentucky in January.
Founded in 1984, the company operates seven clubs and one fuel station in Central Massachusetts, in Auburn, Northborough, Hudson, Leominster, Uxbridge, Framingham, and Franklin, according to its website.
Trading on the New York Stock Exchange, the company’s stock sits at $95.89 per share as of Monday morning, up 7.7% from the beginning of 2025.
