Business Confidence Continues To Build

Business confidence among Bay State employers continued a slow and steady rise in January, the third straight month-over-month increase, according to the Associated Industries of Massachusetts.
The 100-point scale measures how business leaders in Massachusetts feel about the economy. It rose from 51 in December to 52.8 last month.
The confidence index has risen 6.4 points since its October low of 46.4.
Among respondents, 42 percent expect growth in 2012, but only 5 percent expect the economy to be "much better" at the end of the year. Another 12 percent expect the economy to deteriorate.
