The Associated Industries of Massachusetts (A.I.M.) released its monthly business confidence index report today, showing a loss of four-tenths of a point to 59.5 in November.
However, Raymond Torto, chair of A.I.M.'s Board of Economic Advisors, pointed to the numbers still being 1.5 points more than last November, and ahead over "two, three, and four years," said Torto. If anything, the numbers indicate that Massachusetts employers are still positive about current economic conditions and "foresee no more than a slight softening of national conditions over the next six months," Torto continued.
By industry, manufacturing was down 1.9 points, while other employers noticed a rise of 2.4 points. Confidence levels were identical both in Greater Boston and in the rest of the state, while larger employers were more positive than small to medium-sized firms.
