Cash rules everything around me

As far as Lou Mosca is concerned, cash is king.

Mosca, the executive vice president of Boston-based consulting firm American Management Services Inc., said as much in a presentation to some 50 small business owners at Leominster's Partner America Small Business Conference this morning.

Profits, Mosca said in his keynote address, are key, and not just ones on paper. If you're not generating daily, visible cash flow, he said, "you're not profitable."

"Hold yourself accountable," Mosca said. "What goes on in your four walls is your responsibility."

Other speakers at the event, hosted by Leominster mayor Dean Mazzarella, included Massachusetts Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Director Alison Berglund, SBA Regional Advocate Stephen Adams and U.S. General Services Administration representative Matthew Sisk.

Partner America is a public-private partnership created by the U.S. Conference of Mayors and American Management Services to help small and mid-sized businesses improve profits and sales.
