Cheap Gifts Lift TJX In Nov.

Framingham-based TJX Cos. Inc. said keen inventory management led to a greater-than-expected $1.8 billion in sales for November.

That's a 10 percent increase over the same period a year ago. For the 43-week period ended Dec. 1, the company reported sales of $15.1 billion, a 7 percent increase over 2006.

The company said well-managed inventory allowed its stores to stock "exciting gift-giving merchandise."

TJX operates a variety of bargain retailers including TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods.
