City Robot Teams Ready For Saturday Clash

Saturday at Quinsigamond Community College , 37 robotics teams from Worcester public schools will compete in the college's Quad Quandary Robotics Competition.

The event begins at 9 a.m. in the Hebert Auditorium, and is funded by a grant from Microsoft Corp. The competition will include high school, middle school and elementary school students and their robots. Worcester's schools boast more than 400 students involved in robotics programs, and the city's schools are known collectively as a robotics powerhouse.

In just three years, the city schools' students and robots have risen to the top ranks in regional robotics competitions.
