Coakley Puts Charity Financial Info Online

Attorney General Martha Coakley said the annual reports of charities operating in Massachusetts will now be available to the public through a new feature on the AG's web site.
The Public Charities Annual Filing Document Search, which came on line today, is part of an effort by Coakley's office to make information about nonprofit organizations and their donors more readily available to the public.
The new function includes financial reports from more than 22,000 charitable organizations in Massachsuetts, as well as information about organizations' programs and activities and copies of organizations' federal tax filings.
