eClinicalWorks of Westboro announced that it has expanded its client base through Southern Maine with the realization of new agreements between Primecare and InterMed, P.A., two of Maine's largest primary care groups.
The agreement gives eClinicalWorks access to 130-provider practices. The two primary care groups chose eClinicalWork's unified electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) software to create more effective processes from patient check-in to check-out.
InterMed has 80-providers at 11 locations throughout Southern Maine, and PrimeCare is a 50-provider multi-specialty practice, also with 11 locations. The two agencies will use eClinicalWork's products to simplify internal processes between practice locations and help reduce costs. The software also features an element called the Patient Portal, allowing for a secure means by which doctors and patients can communicate aspects of their care, including appointments and lab results.
The system also plays a role in increasing patient safety, said Dr. Mike Albaum, medical director of PrimeCare. "eClinicalWorks not only allows us to continue improving care to our patients, but will increase overall safety by enhancing communications between providers."
