FCHP best in nation for Medicare & Medicaid

Worcester-based Fallon Community Health Plan has been named the top Medicare HMO plan and top Medicaid HMO plan in the country by U.S. News & World Report and the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
The third annual rankings are based on more than 100 indicators of clinical performance, including customer satisfaction and a plan's ability to help its members get healthier, according to the NCQA. More than 250 plans nationwide were ranked. Three categories were considered - best commercial plan, best Medicare plan and best Medicaid plan.
Overall, Massachusetts plans fared very well in the rankings. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Tufts Associated HMO and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care all cracked the top 10 commercial plans list.
