• The Ensworth Charitable Foundation presented the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks with a $10,000 grant. The donation will support the museum’s SOAR for Science program in the Windsor schools.
• The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain awarded $215,867 in grants in the third quarter of 2007. The Neighborhood Housing Services of New Britain received $20,000 and Capital Workforce Partners in New Britain received $15,000 from the foundation.
• Louis Hernandez Jr., chairman and CEO of Open Solutions Inc. in Glastonbury, was selected by Bank Technology News as a Top 25 Innovator of 2007. Hernandez was also an inductee into The Innovators’ Hall of Fame.
• InfoShred in East Windsor received a gold award in the document destruction category of a readers’ survey from The Connecticut Law Tribune.
• Darold Hunter, owner of the Hunter Agency in East Hartford, was a first prize winner in Hewelett-Packard’s Real Estate Technology contest. Hunter used technology in inventive ways to save time, close more deals and beat the competition.
