• Junior Achievement of Southwest New England in Hartford received Junior Achievement Worldwide’s Silver Summit Award, the highest honor of the organization. The local office was honored for reaching outstanding success in financial health, program quality, management effectiveness and program growth.
• The employee campaign at Eastern Connecticut Health Network raised $71,000 in support of the annual fund and employee care fund. The proceeds will help patients served by the organization and employees facing financial hardship.
• The Robert H. Lord Co. in Manchester donated 130 pieces of furniture to the Hartford Public School system. Items replaced old and outdated furniture in several schools.
• Prudential Connecticut Realty donated 270 winter coats to St. Joseph’s Cathedral Food Pantry in Middletown through its company-wide initiative.
• The Trinity Club of Hartford honored Walter Harrison as Person of the Year. Harrison is president of the University of Hartford, a 1968 Trinity College graduate and an active community member.
