U.S. News Media Group, publisher of U.S. News & World Report and various consumer guides, released its annual list of the 50 best careers for the upcoming year.
The job projections are broken into five categories, including health care, science & technology, education & civic, business & finance and creative & service.
The magazine compiled the list using projection data from the U.S. Department of Labor, such as highest percentage growth, highest absolute number growth and above-average median income fields.
Many of the top projected growth fields in business and finance deal with financial analysis and planning.
"As consumers look for advice on retirement and companies seek analysis on investments, the opportunities for personal financial advisers and financial analysts look good," according to the report.
The list also notes that businesses are investing in employee development, training and public relations specialists.
Some of the top jobs in the financial sector include actuaries, accountants, loan officers, cost estimators, meeting planners and logisticians.
U.S. News also predicts growth in the health field, especially for medical innovation and assistant positions.
Jobs that made the list includes x-ray technician, veterinarian, lab technician, occupational and physical therapists, physicians' assistants and dental hygienist.
In the information and technology field, the list predicts that businesses will continue to turn to information technology specialists to optimize technology usage.
Top growth jobs listed include computer software engineers, system analysts, network architects and biomedical engineers.
