Framingham Firm Secures Patents

The rapid blood test developed by Framingham-based StatSure Diagnostic Systems Inc. has been granted international patents in Japan and India.
The technology is already protected by a U.S. patent, has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is being sold in the U.S. The company's "barrel" technology can test a tiny drop of blood for HIV and certain other infectious diseases in minutes.
The system is marketed to clinics, doctors' offices, emergency rooms and other sites where tests results are needed quickly.
