Framingham insurance firm acquired by Ohio company

Framingham’s M.P. Caplice Insurance Group has been acquired by The McGowan Cos. of Fairview Park, Ohio, for an undisclosed amount.
The deal closed Oct. 1.
The company will be rebranded under the McGowanPro brand with all staff remaining in place, according to a release from McGowan. The firm currently specializes in accountants and lawyers coverage to all 50 states.
The acquisition is part of McGowan’s national growth strategy, said Thomas McGowan, president and CEO of The McGowan Cos.
"We are very excited to become part of The McGowan Companies," said Tracy Gardner, senior underwriter at M.P. Caplice, in a press release. "Its tremendous distribution and technological capabilities will accrue to the benefit of our brokers and policyholders."
