Hartford freight station's revenue up 15 percent

Almost 11 million pounds of freight moved through New England's rising star in 2007, which bumped Pilot Freight Services' Q4 revenue to $10.4 million, up 15 percent from the same time last year.

The worldwide provider of transportation services delivered more than 20,000 shipments of freight during 2007 through the Hartford station.

Nationwide, the company reported a 5.3 percent increase in yearly revenue from Q4 2006 to $340.8 million. Pilot saw the largest growth in its international division, with an 18 percent revenue increase and its government services division, which experienced a 23 percent increase over 2006 revenue.

Kim Gajewski, manager of the Hartford location, credited personalized customer service and attention to detail as the reason for "strong growth" in 2007.
