Vancouver, Canada-based Moulding & Millwork, one of the largest suppliers of wood mouldings in North America, is expanding its market into New England with its recent lease of 45,718 square feet of warehouse and office space in Northboro.
The space, at 425 Whitney St. in I-290 Industrial Park, will serve as a distribution center for the company’s clients in the Northeast. Established in 1926, as a family owned and operated company, Moulding & Millwork has nine manufacturing facilities and 31 sales and warehouse facilities in the U.S. and Canada. Scott Orr, general manager for the company’s northeastern U.S. group, says the company has a client base in Connecticut and now plans to expand into Mass., Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Previously, the closest facility the company has operated to New England was in Rochester, N.Y.
Moulding & Millwork's global supply network includes manufacturing plants through their parent company, Sauder Industries Ltd., as well as vertically integrated moulding producers from around the world. The company wholesales its products to major lumberyards primarily in North America, but also distributes in Asia and Europe. Orr says the company expects to begin operations in Northboro in mid-November or early December and will hire 10 employees to staff the facility.
Jones Lang LaSalle Managing Director William Bailey, Senior Vice President Phil DeSimone, and Associate Matt Giffune negotiated the transaction on behalf of building owner RREEF. Brad Spencer, Vice President of Grubb & Ellis, represented the tenant.
