Jones Lang LaSalle, a real estate money management and services firm, has completed the largest lease transaction in the greater Boston region this year.
Stratus Technology, a Maynard-based software firm specializing in IT technology, has extended its lease for 287,000 square-feet of first-class office space at 111 Powdermill Road in Maynard. The deal represents both a long-term lease renewal and space consolidation for Stratus, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stratus Technologies Group S.A. The firm shortened and restructured its lease at 109 Powdermill Road, which Jones Lang LaSalle is now marketing as available for lease. The real estate firm is also exploring options for an additional 10 acres of land.
The site, originally headquarters for Digital Equipment Corp., is a 47-acre campus that has served as Stratus' home for the past seven years.
Jones Lang LaSalle Managing Director Tamie Thompson, vice president Flory McCarthy, and assistant vice president Tyler Spring negotiated the deal on behalf of building owner DEK Portfolio LLC. Senior vice presidents Bill Zielinski and John Carroll III of Meredith & Grew represented Stratus.
