The North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. has awarded Kimatra Maxwell, owner of Leominster mental health counseling provider Connecting to Greatness, a $20,000 loan, the Fitchburg organization announced on Wednesday.

Maxwell founded the company in 2018 with the goal of helping clients heal and grow towards happy and fulfilled lives, according to a press release. The funds were used to cover relocating and marketing expenses.

Maxwell worked with Fitchburg housing-oriented nonprofit NewVue Communities on her financial package, according to NCMDC.

NCMDC is the economic development arm of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, and, as a microloan lender, can provide loans for small businesses up to $150,000.
