Christine Finck was named associate director for academic affairs in the department of pediatric surgical sub-specialties at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Finck will also continue her responsibilities as surgeon at the hospital.

Jane Baird was named director of government relations at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Baird was formerly advocacy coordinator in the government relations department at the hospital.

Thomas Richardson was named senior director of strategic planning and business development at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Before his promotion, Richardson was director of academic administration, grants and sponsored programs.

Girl Scouts of Connecticut in Hartford appointed George Steiner controller and Leander A. Dolphin vice president and general counsel of human resources. Steiner was previously controller at The Village for Families & Children Inc. and Dolphin practiced employment law at Shipman and Goodwin.

Mahoney Sabol & Co. in Glastonbury named Peter Scalaro partner in the firm. Scalaro was most recently senior tax manager at the company.

Laurence A. Tanner, president and CEO of the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, was elected to the American Hospital Association’s Section for Metropolitan Hospitals governing council.

The Connecticut Power & Energy Society elected Kevin Hennessy to its board of directors. Hennessy is staff attorney and member of the government affairs team at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association in Hartford.

Larry Jetmore was appointed to division chair of the social and behavioral sciences division at Middlesex Community College in Middletown. Jetmore is a retired captain of the Hartford Police Department.

Jackson Lewis in Hartford named Allan S. Friedland partner in the firm. Friedland is benefits counsel at the company.

The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. in Hartford hired Connie Weaver as senior vice president of marketing and communications. Weaver was previously executive vice president and chief marketing officer at BearingPoint.
