A former Quality Inn on Donald J. Lynch Boulevard in Marlborough, close to the Solomon Pond Mall, has reopened as an extended-stay hotel The Residences at Solomon Pond, following a $3-million sale of the land.

The buyer of the property at 880 Donald J. Lynch Boulevard is Solomon Pond Residences LLC, according to the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds. That corporation is registered to Richard Bendetson, who is the founder and president of Diversified Funding Inc., a real estate developer and property manager based in Boston.

Diversified Funding Inc. is already advertising bookings for 65-room The Residences at Solomon Pond on its website, which says the hotel reopened in June..

The sale closed on June 3, according to the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds.

Bendetson bought the former Quality Inn property from Devki, LLC, which is registered to Suresh Patel of Rhode Island, who has owned other hotels in Rhode Island.

At The Residences at Solomon Pond, separate public documents filed through the Worcester Registry of Deeds include an April decision from the City of Marlborough approving the installation of a kitchenette in all hotel guest rooms, as well as the repurposing of one managerial area into an additional guest room, bringing the total number of guest rooms in the hotel to 65

The 2.21-acre property last sold in 2004 for $3.25 million. It was last assessed by the City of Marlborough at $2.87 million.
