Worcester Mayor-Elect Joseph Petty and other elected officials will take oaths of office Monday at 3 p.m. at North High School.
Petty recently announced that Michael S. Lanava, currently the director of government affairs and public policy at the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, will serve as his chief of staff.
Daniel M. Donahue, who was the statewide director of Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray's political committee, will serve as director of policy and deputy chief of staff.
Petty succeeds Joseph C. O'Brien, who decided this year not to run for another term as mayor. O'Brien retained his seat on the City Council.
The inauguration is free and open to the public. A dinner and live entertainment at the Beechwood Hotel immediately following the event costs $25 per person and can be purchased at the city clerk's office or by calling 508-799-1121.
