Med School Hires Health Survey Expert

Ware

The University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester has hired John E. Ware Jr., the founder of a company that develops tools for assessing health outcomes, as professor and chief of outcomes measurement science.

Ware founded QualityMetric Inc. in 1997 and served as CEO, chairman of the board and chief science officer. The company creates survey instruments to measure health outcomes.

Before QualityMetric, Ware was a senior scientist at The Health Institute of the New England Medical Center in Boston for 12 years.

In his new position, Ware will work in the department of quantitative health sciences, working with clinical scientists to develop standardized health surveys and technologies.
