Soares and company began meeting in October. The group has 10 members.
“We are looking for people who are hungry to grow their businesses. In some other groups, we didn’t get a chance to build strong relationships with each other and that’s what we want to do in the group,” Soares said.
The meetings include opportunities for each member to give a one-minute synopsis of his or her company. There are coaching sessions and of course the chance for word-of-mouth marketing and business referrals. The meetings also have roundtable discussions of universal issues. The group plans to get involved with the community and has already donated canned goods to a local food pantry.
They also wanted a group that would be focused more on the Milford area since their businesses are located there, according to Soares who is a sales person for Bright Insurance Agency Inc.
The group only accepts one member in a business category. An application must be filled out to be a guest at a meeting, followed by consideration for membership in the group. Regular meeting attendance is also expected.
The group is nonprofit and meets every other Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at the Milford Public Library. Those who are interested in joining can contact its membership director at pt8894@yahoo.com.
