Mortgage rates climb
Rising overseas interest rates fueled domestic mortgage rates to a 10-month high, with the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate hitting 6.84 percent, said Bankrate.com. The average 15-year fixed rate mortgage climbed to 6.53 percent, while adjustable rate mortgages rose to 6.19 percent. Fixed mortgage rates have increased more than half a percentage point since mid-May.
