Most Workers Worried Over Economy

Four in five employees are worried about the state of the economy, according to a nationwide survey of employed Americans by Right Management.

Thirty-five percent of respondents said they are "very worried," and another 45 percent said they are "somewhat worried," but only 16 percent said their concerns distract them from their performance at work.

Older and more highly educated workers were more worried than others. Forty-two percent of those 45 years old or older were very worried, compared to 26 percent of people 35 to 44. Of those with post-graduate degrees, 88 percent were somewhat or very worried, compared to 77 percent of people with high school education or less.

Right management is a division of national staffing company Manpower.
