FELICIA J. RIFFELMACHER has been named vice president of statewide business development for the Martin Luther King Jr. Business Empowerment Center in Worcester. She was previously employed as a commercial sales and service representative for Verizon. Her education background includes an MBA from Suffolk University and a bachelor's from Becker College.
JOHN LAHAIR has taken a position as public relations manager for Digital Federal Credit Union. He leaves his position of 10 years as director of marketing for the SMG, which manages the DCU Center in Worcester.
MARY KAY ALBERT of Worcester has been re-elected president of the Massachusetts Medical Society Alliance, the organization of physicians' spouses, physicians, medical students and affiliate members that promotes good health practices among the citizens of the commonwealth. She was elected to another one-year term.
JOSEPH FELLINI has been hired as the director of ticket sales for the Worcester Sharks. He joins the Sharks staff after two years as the regional group sales representative for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Dr. ROBERT BROWN JR. has been appointed chair of the department of neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and UMass Memorial Medical Center. He comes to UMass from Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he has been professor of Neurology and Director of the Day Neuromuscular Laboratory and of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic.
JEANNE DUPRE has joined Workers' Credit Union in Fitchburg as a financial representative. She was most recently a financial representative for a local bank. Previous to that she worked for Workers' Credit Union for over 20 years, serving in a variety of positions including branch manager and financial representative.
Fallon Community Health Plan announced several recent appoints. The HMO has appointed ERIC HALL to vice president of network development and management. He has more than 16 years of experience in the managed care industry and previously held the position of senior director of network development and contracting at FCHP.
PATRICK DONAHUE has been hired as senior director of network development and contracting. He comes to FCHP with more than 32 years of experience in health care administration and health finance, and has previously held management positions at both health plans and hospitals. Most recently, Donahue worked for the Caritas Christi Health Care.
KEITH LEDOUX has been hired as assistant vice president of new business sales and broker relations.
Echo Therapeutics in Franklin has hired Dr. ANTHONY P. FURNARY to join its medical advisory board. Furnary, a cardiothoracic surgeon and a leading expert in post-operative insulin therapy, serves as associate director of the Albert Starr Academic Center at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR; director of cardiovascular surgical research at Oregon Medical Laser Center, and director of the Portland Diabetes Project.

Dr. PATRICIA DURKIN FRANKLIN, associate professor of orthopedics & physical rehabilitation, has been named the Joy McCann Professor for Women in Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Franklin will hold the professorship for three years.
NICOLE GLINSKI CURTIN of Leominster has been promoted to assistant vice president, marketing and communications manager for Workers' Credit Union. Curtin joined Workers' Credit Union in 2007 as a marketing manager. Previous to joining the credit union she was the marketing and media relations manager for the Worcester Regional Transit Authority and marketing communications manager for CIO Magazine.
