MWCC Offers Biotech Scholarships
Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner is offering $80,000 in scholarships to high-GPA students seeking associates degrees or certifications in biotechnology or biomanufacturing.
The scholarships are available to new or current students and are awarded by a committee headed by the school's dean of business, science and technology.
Money for the scholarships comes from a U.S. Department of Labor Employment Training Administration community based jobs grant.
Through the grant, the college has already awarded more than $40,000 in scholarships, all to students with GPAs greater than 3.0.
The college's biotechnology and biomanufacturing programs prepare students for work as lab technicians, lab assistants, research assistants and manufacturing technicians.
