New strategic VP for EMC

EMC Corp. of Hopkinton announced the hiring of Louise O'Brien as its new executive vice president of corporate strategy and development.

O'Brien will report directly to Joe Tucci, EMC chairman, president and CEO, and will oversee corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, the office of the chief technology officer and the new ventures group. She comes to EMC from her own consulting group, which she established after seven years with Dell Inc., the company said.

In addition to O'Brien's hiring, EMC also announced that three senior executives have been promoted to president. Mark Lewis was named president of the content management and archiving business, David Donatelli will lead the storage division and Howard Elias was named president of EMC Global Services.
