Otis inks Brazil elevator deal
Farmington-based Otis Elevator Co. won a contract to install and maintain 49 elevators and escalators in a luxury, mixed-use development being built in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Called the Parque Cidade Jardim, the project includes a mall with 16 escalators and 11 elevators, and nine residential towers with 22 elevators. Some of the elevators will use fingerprint-reading technology to identify riders. Otis is a subsidiary of Hartford-based United Technologies Corp.
