Tatnuck Park at Worcester is part of an $890-million deal transferring majority ownership of 34 New England senior housing communities to Ohio-based Health Care REIT Inc.
The communities are run by Benchmark Senior Living, which also retains a 5 percent ownership share in them. The other 95 percent was previously owned by GPT Group, an Australian company that is selling its interest in the communities and withdrawing from the U.S. market.
According to a report on the deal in The Australian, GPT bought the assets in 2006 for $797 million.
Two other Benchmark communities in Central Massachusetts, Leominster Crossings and Shrewsbury Crossings, are not part of the deal.
Benchmark said it will continue running the 34 communities with no change in operations.
