QCC, Worcester, Get $300K Grant

Quinsigamond Community College and the Worcester Public Schools have received a $300,000 state grant to improve opportunities for high school students to attend college.

The three-year grant, titled Gateway To College, will be used to increase high school graduation rates, college readiness and career readiness in Worcester. It was issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The news comes the same week that QCC led an effort by the state's 15 community colleges to receive a $20-million federal grant for career training.
