Recovery Centers of America inks Blue Cross contract

Recovery Centers of America, a Pennsylvania-based addiction treatment provider known as RCA, on Tuesday announced it has signed a contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts to treat its members at its Westminster facility, according to a statement from the company.

The contract was finalized in mid-April, RCA said. The deal is significant for RCA’s Westminster facility, as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is the state’s largest insurer, with more than two million members in the Bay State.

“Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts represents the largest health insurer in our market, and is heavily invested in providing quality healthcare coverage to its members who will now have access to our company’s extensive network and continuum of care,” said Michael Stuart, CEO of RCA at Westminster, in a statement.

The 48-bed drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility opened in November, as part the company’s Northeast expansion. In addition to Blue Cross, RCA accepts most major insurance plans, the company said.
