Running to gov. contracts in D.C.

Littleton-based Marathon Technologies Corp. is pitching its data security software to the U.S. government, and has set up a federal operations division in Washington D.C.

According to the company, there has been strong demand for Marathon's everRun software products from the federal aviation and defense sectors.

Marathon's software could be used to give the government access to records, agency information, citizen records and other information in the event of a computer system failure or disruption.

The company said it provides that access for a lower cost than traditional, hardware-based data and computer network back-up methods.

The software systems could also be put to use protecting computer systems for aviation safety, the company said.
